Letter: Kevin Moynihan Has ‘Real Political Experience’ New Canaan Needs

More

Kevin Moynihan presents an outstanding choice for First Selectman. Kevin has provided leadership in a variety of roles in town, including membership on his party’s town committee and as a member of the Town Council.

But these times require more.

Our state is beyond broke and any local aid is in jeopardy. We need a leader who has real political experience in the major leagues. Kevin has experience working in Washington and on national campaigns, and his effectiveness is recognized. Thus, with Kevin, we gain a fine chief executive for our town as well as a skillful advocate for our needs.

With Kevin for first selectman, Republicans have designated for Town Council Tom Butterworth, Rich Townsend, John Engel and Penny Young. Tom and Rich arrive with fresh ideas and major enthusiasm for New Canaan. John Engel is well known in town for his public spirit and Penny Young may well have logged more hours of thought and energy on behalf of New Canaan than anyone has count. Finally, Treasure Andrew Brooks brought a fresh presence to that statutory office and continues to work constructively with Town Hall to shape its role, All of these candidates deserve our vote on Election Day.
