Andrew provided many wonderful years of guidance and support to Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County. He devoted hundreds of hours of time in service to our non-profit agency and helped to ensure that we would be able to provide home health and hospice care services to the community now and long into the future. He was instrumental in helping us to become a leader in Home Telehealth in our region and he was a founding member of our Investment Committee. In 2008, Andrew was recognized among our many volunteers with a special award for his exemplary service as a board member.

Through the Jeniam Foundation, named for his children Jennifer and William, Andrew and his family have been actively involved with the arts in Memphis and have supported wildlife conservation causes nationwide. Andrew was also deeply committed to the New Canaan community and sought to improve the wellbeing of its residents each and every day.

Andrew’s sharp wit and keen intellect always made for marvelous, multi-layered conversations. His Scottish lilt, love of Anderson plaid and bright blue eyes conveyed joy and caring to all he encountered.

Andrew Clarkson was a true pillar of the community and it was a pleasure and a privilege to know him. At Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County, we will be forever grateful to Andrew and will honor his memory always.

We extend our deepest condolences to Andrew’s wife, Carole, and to all the members of the Clarkson family at this sorrowful time.

Sincerely,

Sharon M. Bradley, President and CEO

Ken Edgar, Board Chair
