Police on Friday afternoon cited a 24-year-old Bronx, N.Y. man for possession of marijuana following an unusual report downtown.
At about 2:37 p.m. on Jan. 5, a merchant on Elm Street reported that a suspicious male had entered his or her shop, according to a police report.
The man entered the store and was asking “weird questions” about female clothing, the report said.
Police received no further information about his questions, so it wasn’t clear exactly what was weird about them, it said. When offices arrived, they found him and walked with the man back to his vehicle.
There, on speaking with occupants of the car, the officer smelled marijuana, then found the drug, police said.
The front seat passenger said it was his and police issued him an infraction summons.
