NCHS Boys Varsity Squash Continues to Roll, Beating Bronxville and Greenwich

The Ram’s Boys Varsity squad is having a great season so far as they pursue their third Fairwest Squash Championship. Following season-opening wins against St. Luke’s School and Rye High School, Varsity A team on Wednesday faced off against Bronxville High School and the Varsity B team played Greenwich High School for a set of double wins.

Vs. Bronxville

Against Bronxville, the Rams dominated, only giving up 2 out of 8 matches:

  • Killian Bubrosky (2) defeated Jack Buendia 9-11, 11-1, 11-7, 11-2.
  • Christian Megherby (3) played a very close and tense match with Delancey McFadden but came out victorious at 11-6, 11-5, 7-11, 11-13, 11-9.
  • Kyle Finnican (4) played Sam Abukhadra and won in 4 games, 11-6, 11-13, 11-5, 11-8.
  • Sam Havens (6) beat Will Cioffi 11-5, 11-5, 12-10. Teddy Holappa (7) won his match against Sasha Capasso, 11-9, 11-7, 12-10.
  • Erik Burns (8) also played Capasso and won 11-4, 11-2, 7-11, 7-11, 11-8.
  • Grayson Bubrosky (1) played a highly competitive match against Ryan Murray but lost 4-11, 12-14, 13-11, 13-15.
  • Will Gruseke (5) also played a very close and intense match with Chris Gay but ultimately lost 13-11, 11-5, 7-11, 7-11, 6-11.

Vs. Greenwich

The Rams won 5 out of 7 matches against the Greenwich Cardinals:

  1. JP Sloan (1) won against Alessio Fikre, 11-8, 11-4, 11-6.
  2. Dylan Brennan (2) defeated Brandon Herrera 11-6, 11-6, 11-2.
  3. Sean Berry (4) dominated his match winning 11-6, 11-4, 11-8.
  4. Justin Swift (5) played Andrew Lim and won 11-6, 9-11, 11-3, 11-2.
  5. Matt Donaldson (7) played Kinan Khader and was victorious 9-11, 11-7, 11-8, 11-3.
  6. Charlie Kallassy (3) played a very challenging and close match with James Huber but lost 10-12, 8-11, 11-3, 9-11.
  7. Ben Wells (6) also played a close match but lost 11-7, 3-11, 9-11, 6-11.
