Summer Theatre Stars to present The Great American SongBook in Concert – Hosted by KARL Chevrolet

The Summer Theatre of New Canaan, Connecticut’s premiere professional summer theatre, will hold a special benefit concert– The Great American Songbook– on Saturday, November 18th at the KARL Chevrolet Showroom on Elm Street in New Canaan. The theatre company is turning KARL Chevrolet’s showroom on Elm Street into a theatre for the evening and will feature its summer stars from past musicals. The evening will feature the classic hit songs from America’s legendary composers including Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Johny Mercer, Duke Ellington, Learner & Loewe, Rodgers & Hammerstein and more!

“Seeing and hearing these classics hits from The Great American Songbook live in concert by our past star performers will be an enchanting experience” says Melody Meitrott Libonati, the company’s artistic director.
Summer Theatre Stars performing include: Chris DeRosa (Joseph), Allison Gray (Sound of Music, Camelot), Daniel Klein (South Pacific), Kate Simone (Legally Blonde, Big River), Jodi Stevens (Singin’ in the Rain, Legally Blonde, Hairspray) and Richard Weidlich (Camelot, The Music Man).

The evening begins at 7:30 with a pre-concert reception including drinks and dessert, followed by the concert at 8pm.
