New Canaan Man, 58, Charged After Domestic Dispute

Police last week arrested a 58-year-old New Canaan man following a domestic dispute.

At about 8:19 p.m. on Nov. 9, officers took a complaint regarding a dispute that had taken place at a Lakeview Avenue home earlier in the day, according to a police report.

Following an investigation, police charged a Lakeview Avenue man with disorderly conduct.

It isn’t clear what the dispute involved, whether it turned physical, what prompted police to bring the misdemeanor charge, who the victim was or whether or how that individual is related to the arrested man.

Police withheld further information, saying the incident has been classified as a domestic matter.

Under state law, a person is guilty of disorderly conduct when, with intent to cause inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, engages in fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior; or by offensive or disorderly conduct, annoys or interferes with another person, among other reasons.

Police released the man after he promised to appear Nov. 13 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
