The first incident occurred at 9:06 p.m. on Oct. 30, when police were dispatched to Smith Ridge Road on a report of an underage drinking party, according to a police report.

There, officers spotted several youths running into the woods behind the house while others looked out through windows inside the home, the report said.

Inside, officers found a “Beer Pong” table set up with red Solo cups of beer and cans on tables and in garbage cans, the report said.

A 17-year-old man who lived there told officers that a smaller party had gotten out of control—police cited him for failure to halt possession of alcohol, an infraction, and charged him with possession of alcohol by a minor, a misdemeanor. Two nights later, at about 10:38 p.m. on Nov. 1, police stopped a car traveling twice the speed limit—60 mph in a 30 mph zone—on Silvermine Road.

The car was traveling westbound near Canoe Hill Road when an officer clocked its speed and saw it cross over the double-yellow line, according to a police report. Pulled over, the driver, 17, declined to take a breath test and failed field sobriety tests. He was charged with driving under the influence, speeding and failure to drive in the proper lane.

The 18-year-old man from Carter Street, a passenger, handed police a fake ID when asked to identify himself. He was charged with second-degree forgery.

Police withheld the 17-year-olds’ names because of their ages and referred their cases to the Juvenile Matter Division of state Superior Court in Stamford. The teen arrested for DUI was released on $260 bond.
