New Construction Planned for East Avenue 

The town on Feb. 15 received an application to build a two-family home on a .36-acre East Avenue parcel where a ca. 1900 Colonial had stood. The 5,215-square-foot structure at 72 East Ave. will include one unit on the first floor and a second upstairs, according to the building permit application.

New Construction Planned for Briscoe Road

The town last week received an application to build a new 4,688-square-foot home on Briscoe Road. The new five-bedroom home planned for 287 Briscoe Road will include three full bathrooms and a half-bath, as well as a kitchen, powder room, dining room, family room, den, mudroom and three-car garage, according to a building permit application filed Nov. 28. 

It will cost about $800,000 to build, according to the application. New Canaan-based Lanni Homes is the contractor on the job, it said. The architect is Bronxville, N.Y.-based Louis Campana Architects.

New Construction Planned for Harrison Avenue

Town officials received an application to build a new home on a .37-acre lot on Harrison Avenue. The 4,553-square-foot home at 80 Harrison Ave. will include five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and a half bath, according to a building permit application. It will include 11 rooms overall, the application said. The new home will cost about $650,000 to build, the application said.

New Construction Planned for Main Street 

The town on Oct. 31 received an application to build a new 4,100-square-foot house on Main Street. The four-bedroom house at 539 Main St. would include three full bathrooms and a half-bath, according to a building permit application filed with the New Canaan Building Department. A 1950-built, 2,356-square-foot home has been standing on the half-acre parcel, tax records show.

New Construction Planned for Summer Street

The town on Sept. 20 issued a permit to build a new home on a .22-acre lot on Summer Street. The new 3,100-square-foot house at 160 Summer St. will include four bedrooms and three full bathrooms and two half-baths, as well as a finished attic and basement, according to the building permit. 

It will cost about $592,000 to build, the permit said. In May, over some neighbors’ objections, the Planning & Zoning Commission had granted a Special Permit for a 2-story addition on the ca.
