New Canaan police last week warned one motorist and cited another for passing stopped school buses.

A 31-year-old town woman was issued a verbal warning following a March 3 incident at Saxe Middle School, according to police.

The woman initially had slowed down and stopped when a school bus halted at the school to let children off, according to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc of the New Canaan Police Department.

The motorist then drove slowly around the left of the bus, she said.

A video on the bus captured the incident, Ogrinc said.

Also on March 3, police issued an infraction summons to a 75-year old New Canaan man who is accused of passing a stopped school bus on Spring Water and Driftway Lanes, Ogrinc said.
