New Canaan’s Schlafman kids with boxes ready to be shipped: Jack, Lily, Riley and Haley. Contributed
For the third time, New Canaan’s Schlafman kids—with support from local parents, the New Canaan Football Club, the NCHS Girls Soccer Team and St. Luke’s School—have successfully collected and shipped soccer cleats and balls to children in the African nation of Eritrea. This year’s shipment included three large boxes of soccer equipment sent to the Godaif Grassroots Football Club in Eritrea. Every child participating in the club received a pair of soccer cleats. The family offers special thanks to a group of boys from South School who worked tirelessly selling baked goods to help cover the cost of shipping the boxes overseas.
