SUMMARY:Coach Marinelli To Preview High School Football Season
DESCRIPTION:New Canaan High School’s football coach Lou Marinelli\, who guided the team to a second consecutive Class L championship last December\, will speak to the New Canaan Men’s Club June 14\, at its meeting in Morrill Hall\, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church\, 111 Oenoke Ridge.\n	Last year’s championship marked Marinelli’s 42nd season as New Canaan Rams head coach having come to the team in 1981. In 2017 Coach Marinelli won his 332nd career game\, making him the winningest coach in Connecticut high school football history. With the team last year\, Marinelli tallied his 374th win.\n	The men’s club meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Marinelli’s remarks will begin around 10:40 a.m. after the business portion of the session.\n	Marinelli has been recognized multiple times as Coach of the Year by the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference\, as well as National Football Foundation Coach of the Year and Hall of Fame Coach of the Year.\n	He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Springfield College. Before coming to New Canaan he coached several New York high school teams and was an assistant football coach for Boston College.\n	In recent years\, two of New Canaan’s football players\, Zach Allen and Lucas Niang have made it into the NFL\, with Niang on the Kansas City Chief’s Superbowl teams.\n	The Men’s Club has openings for new members\, men 55-years old and above.
