DESCRIPTION:Join Grace Farms Foundation\, Edwina von Gal\, landscape designer and founder of the Perfect Earth Project\, and the Connecticut ASLA for a convening to renew commitments to human rights and sustainable ecosystems in landscape design and land care. \nThis full-day event will feature panels\, walks\, lunch and breakout discussions with tools for establishing a new paradigm to create biodiversity-positive\, nature-based solutions in our landscapes\, installed with sustainable materials free of forced labor and child labor.  \nHere’s a preview of the day’s events (with more to come!):  \n-Join guided walks with Dennis McGlade and Eve Kootchick of Olin Studio and learn about the landscape design vision for Grace Farms.\n-Hear from Warrie Price\, Founder and President of The Battery Conservancy\, about her model commitment to chemical-free and sustainable ecosystems.\n-Learn about the illegal extraction of ipe wood and the forced labor associated with common material choices in the built environment from Luciana Varkulja\, architect and urban designer from São Paulo.\n-Hear from speakers including Darrell Petit\, Sculptor from Stony Creek Quarry\, James and Hayes Slade\, of Slade Architecture\, and others.  \nLA CES and APLD credits pending. \nNote: Registration begins at 9:00 am\, the forum begins at 10:00 am.  \nGrace Farms Members enjoy a 20% discount on programs and events.
