DESCRIPTION:This exhibition celebrates the glamour and glitter of a hundred years of evening dress with breath-taking selections from the Museum’s clothing and textile collection. Gowns and more gowns\, along with a selection of coats\, shoes\, hats\, accessories\, and men’s wear\, will be on display in The Susan Bishop Gallery. Highlights include a beautifully conserved green velvet House of Worth gown c. 1880\, a turquoise silk 1964 Balenciaga dress and matching coat\, and even a silk and velvet dress worn to the inauguration ball of President U.S. Grant in 1869!
