SUMMARY:First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan Holds Third Annual Memorial Day Barbecue and Family Fun-Fest!
DESCRIPTION:Free Admission and Parking; Food and Attraction Tickets available for purchase on site. \nThe First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan is once again inviting the entire New Canaan community to its annual town-wide Memorial Day Barbecue and Family Fun-Fest\, beginning at 11 am immediately following the town parade and dedication service at Lakeview Cemetery\, and running until 3 p.m. \nFor years\, the New Canaan Memorial Day Parade has been a beloved tradition in our town. Two years ago\, First Presbyterian added to and enhanced this tradition by inviting all in the town to a good old fashioned and family-friendly celebration honoring the men and women who have served our country. \nThis year\, the church is teaming up with the New Canaan Veterans of Foreign Wars to encourage the New Canaan community to come and enjoy an afternoon of games\, crafts\, food and fun with family and friends. Proceeds from the day’s events will go towards the outreach work of the church\, including the V.F.W.\, Post 653 of New Canaan\, which supports veterans in our community. \nAttractions will include live entertainment\, a petting zoo and pony rides\, apple pie making\, a bouncy house\, dunk tank\, water rides and of course a home-style barbeque. The culmination of the day will be a raffle drawing for a new Jeep Wrangler Sport 4×4 (color chosen by the winner)\, with the second prize a $250 gift certificate to Elm Restaurant of New Canaan. Proceeds from the raffle will also go to the church’s outreach programs. \nAll are welcome and admission and parking are free. Food will be available for purchase\, and tickets for the attractions will be sold separately on-site.
