SUMMARY:God's Acre Christmas Caroling
DESCRIPTION:Caroling Tradition Continues at God’s Acre on Christmas Eve \nThe God’s Acre Christmas Carol volunteers are preparing for the annual carol sing on God’s Acre\, starting at 6:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve\, Saturday December 24 at the top of God’s Acre. The annual community tradition was begun over 100 years ago.\nThis will be the first year the event will occur without Steve Benko who\, on his own\, did so much behind the scenes to make it all happen.\nThe bandstand will be constructed by a local contractor and the New Canaan Beautification League has volunteered to decorate it with wreathes\, greens and bows. The New Canaan Town Band will play eight classic Christmas carols while hundreds of families\, individuals and friends from the community will gather for the sing along.\nSong sheets will available and distributed at the carol sing.\nThe cost to decorate the tree\, erect the bandstand\, and printing the song sheets are paid for through donations which can be sent to the New Canaan Community Foundation at 111 Cherry Street\, New Canaan\, CT 06840 and please write God’s Acre Carols in the memo. \n
