SUMMARY:HAIR in Concert
DESCRIPTION:Connecticut Stage Company\, New Canaan’s newest non-profit professional theatre company\, is back for its second season which opens with HAIR in Concert on November 23 & 24 at New Canaan Library. HAIR\, the American tribal love-rock musical celebrates 1960s counterculture in all its long-haired\, bell-bottomed\, and psychedelic glory. Featuring chart-topping hits like “Aquarius” and “Let the Sunshine In”\, HAIR explores ideas of identity\, community\, global responsibility\, and peace as it tells the story of a tribe of New York City hippies on the cusp of adulthood championing freedom\, pacifism\, and joy. They must confront a world thrown into chaos when one of their own receives a draft notice for the Vietnam War. HAIR remains relevant as ever as it examines what it means to be a young person in a changing world. \nCSC has assembled an all-star cast of professional actors from New York City including Kevin Clay who is currently starring in The Book of Mormon on Broadway. Clay is taking a week off of Broadway to come out to New Canaan for HAIR. \nCSC is partnering with New Canaan Library for this production. There is a suggested donation of $40 per ticket. Tickets can be reserved on CSC’s website.  \n*Please note that while CSC’s production does not contain nudity\, the show does contain sensitive language and adult subject matter.
