SUMMARY:LiveGirl "Girls Can Lead" Leadership Summit
DESCRIPTION:LiveGirl will host a leadership summit “Girls Can Lead” open to girls grades 5-8 (free-of-charge) on Saturday\, April 29th at the gorgeous Grace Farms in New Canaan. The keynote speaker will be Caroline Simmons\, the CT State Representative (D-144th District) and the youngest female legislator in Connecticut state office. Simmons attended Harvard where she played varsity lacrosse and worked on Barack Obama’s Presidential Transition Team and the Department of Homeland Security before being elected to the CT House in 2014 and re-elected in 2016. Girls explore what it means to be a leader and the various forms of leadership.They will also practice their public speaking skills and create their own platform and “I Can Lead” campaign speech. Girls will also have the opportunity to explore the Grace Farms nature trails and engage in team-building games and activities. Space is limited.
