SUMMARY:New Canaan Field Club Is Topic at Men’s Club Meeting
DESCRIPTION:	Long-time resident George Brakeley will take members of the New Canaan Men’s Club Friday\, on a largely anecdotal and historical journey of the New Canaan Field Club in remarks at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church\, 111 Oenoke Ridge.\n	Now a resident of Manchester\, VT\, Brakeley’s talk will begin around 10:40 a.m.\, following the business portion of the meeting beginning at 10 a.m.\n	The Field Club\, founded in 1957\, primarily to provide racquet sports\, such as tennis and paddle ball\, also had a pool at its inception. Since then\, the club on Smith Ridge Road\, has expanded its offerings to offer pickleball\, a range of aquatics\, including competitive diving\, and youth camps.\n	Brakeley was a Men’s Club member for about 15 years\, during which time\, he ran the humorist program\, and will return in that role for the June 23 meeting. As a town resident\, he was active in Staying Put in New Canaan\, and the Field Club.\n	Men 55-years and above interested in joining may email ncmens@ncmens.info for further information. \n
