DESCRIPTION:This event is a one-mile race for men\, women\, and children (separate races). \n All proceeds go to scholarships for New Canaan High School students. Runners are asked to register at:\n\nhttp://newcanaanmile.com/Run.php \nThe New Canaan Mile was started in 2012 by New Balance owners Ron and Tina Rosenfeld to reward two student athletes at the New Canaan High School for the following merits: \n\nStrong Leadership Qualities\nHard Working\nGood Grades\n\nMost importantly the schloarship is not awarded to the students who are necessarily the best athletes\, but the individuals that come to practice with a positive attitude and helps others. \nWe give a $1000 scholarship to a person decided on by the coaches. \n
