SUMMARY:Registration for New Canaan Flag Football League Ends Aug. 19
DESCRIPTION:As professional football players began training camp\, the New Canaan Flag Football League is also getting ready to kick off The 2014 season next week. The league will be split into four divisions by grades. \nThe divisions are: Grades 2 and 3rd\, 4th through 6\, a 7th and 8th grade division and a high school division. \nRegistration for the upcoming season began earlier last month and will run until Aug. 19\, according to the league’s website. \nThe season will start on Aug. 28 with practices\, and the first games will come on Sept. 6. Before the start of the season\, the league will hold a camp Aug. 18 through 22 at Waveny Park from 4:00 to 6 p.m. The camp is for registered players and is a clinic for conditioning\, skills and practice games. \nThe league works with USA Football and is run by the New Recreation Dept. The program is designed to educate young people about football while emphasizing participation and sportsmanship. \nPlayers learn skills and lessons that help them succeed both on and off the field.
