DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the coming of summer with Relic in a performance that will enliven the imagination and excite the senses! \nNew Canaan\, CT: {May 2024} – Relic\, a touring early music ensemble known for its spirited performances and innovative programs\, will be touring the tri-state area in early June\, with a performance at First Presbyterian Church (178 Oenoke Ridge New Canaan\, CT) at 7pm on Wednesday\, June 5.  \nRelic was founded in 2022 by six Juilliard graduates with the mission of bringing magical performances of early music to communities in all 50 states. This concert will be Relic’s Connecticut debut! \nAt the Temple of Juno celebrates the coming of summer by honoring the goddess Juno and all she represents: power\, jealousy\, rage\, love\, childhood\, and rejuvenation. Enjoy masterpieces by Handel\, Purcell\, Vivaldi and Scarlatti\, as well as rarely heard gems by De Lalande\, D’Ambruys and Charpentier – all in a program that flows seamlessly from one affect to the next! \nRelic members include violinists Kako Boga\, Aniela Eddy\, Toma Iliev\, Natalie Rose Kress\, Rebecca Nelson and Chiara Stauffer\, cellist Cullen O’Neil\, bassoonist Georgeanne Banker\, harpsichordist Robert Warner\, bassist Sue Yelanjian\, and theorbist Cameron Welke. Relic’s musicians appear regularly with leading historical ensembles across  the Americas and Europe\, including Handel and Haydn Society\, Boston Baroque\, Portland Baroque\, Tafelmusik\, Les Arts Florissants\, Apollo’s Fire and The English Concert. \n“This concert is a chance to enjoy a wide variety of musical gems. We’ve chosen some of the most exciting music we know and crafted it into a six-chapter narrative punctuated by poetry and myth.
