SUMMARY:Silver Hill To Host Recovery Coach Training
DESCRIPTION:Early Bird Discount Ends March 1st\nTraining Is Open to the Public.\nNEW CANAAN\, CT – February\, 2020 \nRecovery coach training is returns to New Canaan in April and is open to all residents. Due to the interest in trainings held last Spring and Fall\, The CCAR Recovery Coach Academy hosted by Silver Hill returns April 14-17\, 2020 to the hospital’s campus on Valley Road in New Canaan. The internationally recognized\, 4-day Academy provides individuals with the skills needed to guide\, mentor and support anyone wishing to initiate or sustain long-term recovery from drugs or alcohol. \nEfforts to provide area residents with the skills and knowledge to help others initiate and sustain recovery\, is thanks to community organizations like NC Parents Support Group; members of the New Canaan recovery community and leadership of Silver Hill working together to bring local solutions to the national addiction crisis.\n“New Canaan and surrounding communities aren’t immune to the national addiction crisis.” said\, Andy Hersam\, RCP of New Canaan based RE/COACH\, a recovery coaching services and training organization. “In fact\, affluent communities are often more vulnerable to the disease of addiction. Statistically\, higher income correlates with higher rates of alcohol & potential for over use of prescribed drugs (versus illicit)\, like benzodiazepines (Xanax\, Klonopin); opiates and stimulants (Adderall\, Vyvanse). As a result\, though we live in an area with a large\, vibrant recovery community\, surrounded by world class treatment and clinical resources\, too many of our neighbors struggle with an alcohol and/or substance use issues. Training residents in recovery coaching is a way to bridge the two.” \nParticipants of the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy© will discover & describe recovery coach roles and functions; List the components\, core values and guiding principles of recovery; Build skills to enhance relationships; Explore many dimensions of recovery and recovery coaching; Discover attitudes about self-disclosure and sharing your story; Understand the stages of recovery; Describe the stages of change and their applications; Increase their awareness of culture\, power and privilege; Address ethical and boundaries issues; Become experienced in recovery wellness planning; and practice newly acquired skills. \nApril’s Recovery Coach Academy hosted by Silver Hill will be conducted by CCAR certified trainers and participants will hear from professional coaches as guest speakers. RE/COACH’s Andrew Hersam will be the Academy’s lead facilitator. Along with being a professional coach\, Mr. Hersam is both a CCAR certified recovery coach trainer and holds CCAR’s Recovery Coach Professional (RCP) designation. \nFor more information or to register\, visit www.recoach.us or call (917) 714-8508 or email info@recoach.us .
