SUMMARY:St. Aloysius School Open House
DESCRIPTION:Come to our Open House on April 6th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. For sixty years\, St. Aloysius School has fostered academic excellence in an environment permeated by Catholic teachings and values\, and strengthened by community and family involvement. From Kindergarten through eighth grade\, students receive a solid foundation\, which prepares them for high school\, and beyond. \nWe believe a positive learning environment is important for our students’ success. Daily religious instruction\, academic rigor and the pervasive spirit of community service provide the basis for a warm and nurturing learning environment\, allowing St. Aloysius students to thrive and reach their full potential. \nCaring teachers and staff support our students with differentiated instruction\, empowering them to excel with the challenging academics. Science instruction incorporates STEM (Science\, Technology\, Engineering and Math) and utilizes hands-on learning and real world applications. The latest technology for learning is accessible in all classes\, and coursework is integrated across disciplines\, creating a rich learning environment. \nLearning is further enriched with Spanish instruction\, PE\, art\, and music. Students participate in liturgies and musical productions\, including patriotic and religious celebrations. In addition to the many after school clubs\, St. Aloysius students participate in volleyball\, basketball\, and cross country. \nService projects and community service are an equally important aspect of student learning at St. Aloysius. From creating and sharing holiday decorations with local seniors\, to collecting over 4\,000 pantry items for the Catholic Charities’ New Covenant Center\, our students learn the importance of living their faith. \nStudents also benefit from the shared values and commitment of our caring and involved parent community. Parent volunteers actively contribute to our success in many ways\, including mentoring new families\, organizing special events\, and supporting school programming. \nSt. Aloysius proudly earned the 2010 National Blue Ribbon School award from the U.S. Department of Education\, and over one-third of our eligible students regularly qualify for the John’s Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth programs. Our school is ranked among the top 50 private schools nationally. \nGive your child the gift of a Catholic school education at St. Aloysius School. If you missed our April 6th Open House\, and would like more information about St. Aloysius School\, please call 203-966-0786. \n
