SUMMARY:The Nutcracker: Hear the Story\, See a Performance\, Learn a Dance
DESCRIPTION:The magic of The Nutcracker ballet comes to New Canaan Library when The New England Academy of Dance (NEAD) presents a performance featuring dancers from the company as well as professionals from New York City. Under the direction of Frances Ortiz\, Ginna Ortiz\, and Ted Thomas\, this educational\, family-friendly event includes a reading of The Nutcracker book by the Sugar Plum Fairy\, followed by a performance of the ballet. Other characters from The Nutcracker\, Clara and the Snow Queen\, will teach children from the audience a dance from the ballet. The demonstration is ideal for children ages five through ten\, but all are welcome. \n
