DESCRIPTION:Marysue Rucci\, vice president\, publisher and editor-in-chief of Marysue Rucci Books\, a Scribner imprint\, will be this week’s guest speaker at the New Canaan Men’s Club meeting Friday\, Sept. 23\, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.\n	The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. with Rucci’s presentation expected to begin around 10:30 a.m.\n	Rucci\, a New Canaan High School graduate\, was named to the position at Scribner a year ago. Prior to that\, she was vice president\, and editor-in-chief with Simon & Schuster for 24 years\, working with an array of best-selling and award-winning authors\, including Mary Higgins Clark\, Nelson DeMille\, Sarah Ruhl and Helen Phillips\, whose book\, “The Need\,” was longlisted for the National Book Award for fiction.\nRecently\, she worked with Laura Dave on her New York Times bestseller\, “The Last Thing He Told Me”; Susie Yang’s “White Ivy\,” another Times bestseller and “The Book of Magic” by Alice Hoffman\, the fourth in the author’s Practical Magic series.\nRucci has also worked on important nonfiction works\, including “The House at Sugar Beach” by Helene Cooper; “The Year of Yes” by Shonda Rhimes and “The Bright Hour” by Nina Riggs.\n	A graduate of Northwestern University\, Rucci has worked with authors across the suspense\, literary fiction and memoir genres.\n	Scribner has a venerated history\, having published many of the best-known names in American literature\, among them Ernest Hemingway\, F. Scott Fitzgerald\, Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings\, Thomas Wolfe and Ring Lardner.\nFor another New Canaan connection\, longtime Scribner editor\, Maxwell Perkins\, who worked with Hemingway\, Fitzgerald\, and other notable authors of that time\, lived at 63 Park Street for many years.\n	The Men’s Club has openings for new members\, men 55-years-old and above.
