SUMMARY:Town Democrats To Host Barbecue with a Side of Electoral Conversation
DESCRIPTION:New Canaan Democrats will have a chance to meet their candidates for federal and state offices while they enjoy an extensive buffet featuring barbecued chicken\, pulled pork\, an array of salads\, mac and cheese and cool drinks at the 2022 DTC Barbecue September 18 at the Carriage Barn\, Waveny Park\, from 3-6 p.m.\n	A popular event\, the 2019 DTC barbecue\, the last held prior to the pandemic\, drew more than 200 attendees who heard from U.S. Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy\, U.S. Rep. Jim Himes\, Gov. Ned Lamont and Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz. Attendees also had a chance to meet with Democratic state senators\, representatives and that year’s slate of candidates for municipal offices.\n	 “I’m thrilled that the DTC is hosting the barbecue again because it’s an exciting opportunity for us to meet with our team of dedicated\, talented and effective elected officials and candidates\,” said Christina Fagerstal\, DTC chair. “Having great food at a barbecue while meeting our candidates is a terrific way to spend Sunday in Waveny Park.”\n	The event will be held rain or shine\, with general admission set at $45 in advance; $55\, if purchased at the door. Supporter level contribution is $95; Leadership Circle contribution is $150.
