DESCRIPTION:Join us for a free and informative lecture in support of National Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month presented by the New Canaan YMCA\, Stamford Health\, Waveny Lifecare Network\, and Alzheimer’s Association – CT Chapter. \nThe event will feature a Dementia update by Dr. Tzivia Moreen\, geriatrician and primary care physician at Stamford Health\, followed by resources and updates by Kathleen Benevento\, Executive Director of the Navigator Program at Waveny Lifecare Network and Mary Kay Harrity\, volunteer Ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Association – CT Chapter. \nDr. Moreen of Stamford Health will bring her advanced training in the complex medical and psychosocial concerns faced by older adults and their families. She works closely with other physicians and medical teams to promote quality of life\, reduce complications and improve outcomes for the geriatric population.  \nKathleen Benevento\, Executive Director of the Navigator Program at Waveny Lifecare Network will discuss\, ‘The Navigator: Alzheimer’s and Dementia at Home\,’ a grant-funded program for New Canaan that offers 24/7 support and guidance to families caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia\, as well as the adult day program exclusive to Navigator clients to provide respite time to caregivers while their loved ones enjoy socialization and activity.  \nMary Kay Harrity\, volunteer Ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Association – CT Chapter will discuss the free support\, information\, and services that families have through the Alzheimer’s Association.
