DESCRIPTION:Count on the League of Women Voters of Connecticut Education Fund’s 46th Symposium on International Relations\, Climate Change: What Impact can we have now? to engage the public in a timely discussion on actions\, responses and proposals. In November 2015 the United Nations Climate Change Conference will meet in Paris to negotiate an international agreement. \nThe League Keynote speaker is Professor Daniel C. Esty\, former Commissioner of Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (2011-2014)\, author of numerous articles on environmental policy and Yale U.’s Hillhouse Professor of Environmental Law and Policy. Professor Esty serves as Yale University’s Director of the Center for Environmental Law and Policy and of the Center for Business and Environment. He is the author of\, Green to Gold: How Smart Companies Use Environmental Strategy to Innovate\, Create Value\, and Build Competitive Advantage\, one of the most popular “green” business books of the past decade. \nJoining Professor Esty in a roundtable discussion and making their own presentations will be University of Connecticut’s Assistant Professor of Geography\, Scott R. Stephenson\, discussing changes in the Arctic and the impact for trade\, security\, fisheries\, and wildlife and independent international farm consultant\, Mark Fulford. \nThe program concludes as a town hall meeting with a 40 minute Q&A with the audience moderated by Nancy Ruther\, Visiting Fellow at the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies. \nMark your calendar\, Friday\, April 10 at the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies from 8:30-12:30 PM\, Breakfast provided.
