DESCRIPTION:New Canaan Library is pleased to host a virtual presentation by Yale Science Communication on the topic “Brain Food: The Evolution and Application of Eating.” Tune in to the lecture on Thursday\, April 21 at 7:00 PM EST. Zoom sign in information will be provided upon registration at newcanaanlibrary.org. \nThere is a common saying\, “you are what you eat\,” but how has that changed over time? Food is much more than basic nutrition to fuel our bodies. In their talk\, Yale Science Communication’s Shannon Rainsford\, Audrey Tjahjadi\, and Grace Swaim will discuss the impact of diet on the development of one’s brain\, as well as how humans evolved to seek out food\, and the biology of how the brain uses that food to think. \nYale Science Communication is an organization of graduate students and postdoctoral individuals passionate about science communication\, education\, and advocacy. They deliver talks on current topics in science\, ranging from the microbiome to the feasibility of a real-life Jurassic Park. Their goal is to make science fun and accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds and provide people with a better understanding of the science underpinning many of the complex issues in the news every day. \n
