SUMMARY:Preserved: A New Documentary Film by Ben Clark
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Earth Day\, April 22nd\, for the New Canaan debut of Preserved\, a documentary about the rebirth of an expanse of land in New Mexico\, and a blueprint on how to save the environment from historical devastation. \nIn 1996\, media mogul Ted Turner purchased the 558\,000 acres and launched an ambitious conservation campaign. He wanted to return land that had been devastated by coal mines\, railroads\, over-grazing\, and oil drilling into what it had been historically – a thriving\, biodiverse ecosystem. \nSince his purchase\, scientists\, land use planners\, wildlife experts\, ranchers\, and conservationists have worked together to undo the damage done to this incredible landscape. The result is astonishing – beaver\, elk\, bison\, and trout populations have returned\, the plant life flourishes\, and both the air and the rivers are clean. The film\, with footage shot over 130 days\, captures all this plus contains interviews with the experts who made it happen. As the promotional materials explain\, “In an era of wildfires\, drought\, and species collapse across the American Southwest\, Vermejo is living proof that restoration is not only possible—it’s happening. And it’s a blueprint for what comes next.”\n— \n

SUMMARY:How to Work\, Win\, and Make Meaning with Agentic AI
DESCRIPTION:In Cognitive Kin\, Christophe Kolb and Jan Rosen map the threshold where AI becomes a colleague to reshape the meaning of work and create new sources of value. Drawing on firsthand experience at the frontier of agentic AI\, the authors show how digital labor becomes viable\, why org charts give way to networks of intent\, and how leadership shifts to orchestration. They translate the machinery–memory\, feedback loops\, tool use–into plain language\, then follow the shockwave into strategy\, culture\, and governance. \n

SUMMARY:'The Father' by Florian Zeller
DESCRIPTION:THE FATHER is a psychologically immersive play that uniquely puts the audience in the position of the main character\, allowing us to experience his confusion as if it were our own. We never know what’s true or real. \nThe Father is a darkly humorous\, deeply poignant and unsentimental play\, presenting a sobering and emotionally intense look at the world through the eyes of a man experiencing dementia\, with a dramatic illustration of the physical losses which occur along with the mental ones. \nTHE FATHER (Le Père) is the winner of the 2014 Molière Award for Best Play. The Molières are considered France’s highest theatrical honour. THE FATHER premiered on Broadway in 2016 with Frank Langella winning the TONY AWARD for BEST ACTOR\, and was transferred to screen with Anthony Hopkins winning the BEST ACTOR OSCAR for his performance. \nAt Town Players of New Canaan’s Powerhouse Theatre in Waveny Park.\nTICKETS: TPNC.ORG \nDirected by Deborah Burke\nStarring: Will Jeffries\, Kitty Robertson\, Eric Schuster\, Cathy Cordaro\, Jaimie Wallace\, Phil Lorenzo. \n“Superb…A harrowing experience expertly delivered.” —The Boston Globe \n“An unbelievably emotional ride.” — Broadway World \n“When our memories fail us\, we lose ourselves. It’s a terrifying proposition\, and THE FATHER captures that sense of unease and sadness perfectly.” — EDGE Providence \n“THE FATHER is one of those plays that makes your brain hum with the potential of theatre” – The Independent \n
