Dear Editor,
Once again I am in awe of the recent Literary Luncheon organized by the New Canaan Library which took place at the New Canaan Country Club on Friday, November 8th. The event featured acclaimed and Pulitzer-prize winning author Jhumpa Lahiri, who discussed her work, Roman Stories. Her stories transported us into the lives and landscape of Rome, exploring themes of identity and cultural displacement with her characteristic eloquence.
The Luncheon provided a wonderful opportunity for our community to connect with an author of Lahiri’s caliber and gain insight into her creative process. We are fortunate to have such enriching literary events here in New Canaan and they wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and efforts of hardworking volunteers and the incredible library staff who work tirelessly to deliver high quality programming. This year extra special praise must be given to Michael Canoro whose creative vision and exceptional design work transformed the club, the co-chairs of the event – Meghan Gould and Elana Woods, the development staff in the library – Allison Zinczenko and Elizabeth Moore, and Library CEO – Ellen Crovatto and Library Director Cheryl Capitani.
