New Canaan’s Claire Ayoub, writer/director of “Empire Waist,” is launching the “Try Anyway Creative Writing Workshop,” which will meet 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sundays from March 1 to May 17 at the New Canaan Racquet Club’s Coach’s Corner Conference Room. It’s a 10-week workshop “designed for students to build creative confidence through weekly writing challenges (inspired by movies, music, art, and more!) and by practicing their public speaking skills by sharing works in progress with their peers each class,” Ayoub said. “My classes are always a safe and supportive space for kids to bring their ideas and be themselves. And when we feel anxious about putting ourselves and our ideas out there, we try anyway.” Program fee is $450 with a $300 option for those needing financial assistance. More info here.
