The Town Players of New Canaan is bringing the classic 12 Angry Men to the Powerhouse Theatre in Waveny Park. We are the ONLY theater licensed this year to perform the Professional Version as seen on Broadway (other theaters are performing the adapted versions by Sherman L. Sergel). We are bringing in professional union actors from NYC and LA to perform with top local talent.

Reginald Rose wrote the original 1954 teleplay of 12 Angry Men for the CBS Studio One anthology television series. In 1955 he wrote the stage play, but it took nearly 50 years for his 12 Angry Men to come to Broadway, in October, 2004 at the American Airlines Theatre, where it ran for the theater’s record-breaking 328 performances. The show then continued in 2006/07 with the national Broadway tour which included Mike Boland, who is now Directing and performing this show at the Powerhouse Theatre!

The play explores the deliberations of a jury of a homicide trial, in which a dozen men decide the fate of a teenager accused of murdering his abusive father. At the beginning, they are nearly unanimous in concluding the youth is guilty. One man dissents, declaring him “not guilty”, and he sows an important seed of reasonable doubt. A MUST SEE.
