The opening reception for “State of Mind” Collages by Dunia Barrera – an exhibition at the Carriage Barn on display in the Annex Gallery, will take place on Friday September 1, from 5-6.30pm.

The exhibition comprises collages on paper and wood collage objects illustrating the duality and communication of our daily lives. This is Dunia’s first US solo exhibition.

Since 2021, Barrera (born in 1979, based in Munich Germany and New Canaan, Connecticut) has been working the concept of the perceived reality and the messages we receive willingly and unwillingly.

Her photography background has had a strong influence on her way of seeing and composing, as demonstrated by the persistent use of monochromatic images.
