The Bard At Bristow – An Immersive Stroll

$30Immerse yourself in William Shakespeare’s timeless tales on a scenic stroll through Bristow Bird Sanctuary. Professional actors and musicians bring to life beloved scenes and songs inspired by Shakespeare’s greatest works. Visitors may encounter the romance of Romeo & Juliet, the whimsy of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the magic of The Tempest, and the dark intrigue of Macbeth—complete with witches and sword fights—along with sonnets, madrigals, and more. Join us on a journey through nature and story.
Presented by Summer Theater of New Canaan, in association with the New Canaan Land Trust, New Canaan Conservancy, Bristow Bird Sanctuary, Friends of Bristow and October4Design.
Location:
Bristow Bird Sanctuary, entry via Mead Park, 241 Park Avenue, New Canaan. Convenient free parking is available.
A show where the audience travels:
This is a promenade-style experience where audience members are led down a walking path and encounter various Shakespearean vignettes. The total distance is less than a mile on a gravel path with light gradation. The full experience is ADA accessible.’
Groups of 15–20 will depart every 15 minutes from 11:00 AM–3:00 PM for a 45-50 minute traveling experience. Tickets from $30 including fees.
Age Information:
While this event is not specifically developed for very young people, audience members of all ages are welcome to attend. If bringing young children, please note that strollers are discouraged based on the amount of space available for the performance. All attendees will require a ticket.
