Police on Monday morning arrested a 56-year-old New Canaan man by warrant and charged him with evading responsibility.
At about 8:20 p.m. on May 28 (a Friday), officers were dispatched to the area of Locust Avenue and Forest Street on a report of a car crash, police said. The man struck two cars with his vehicle while trying to park, and left the scene of the crash, according to a police report.
Police obtained a warrant for the misdemeanor charge and the man turned himself in at about 9 a.m. on June 21. He additionally was cited for unsafe backing.
The man was released on $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear July 19 in state Superior Court.
