New Canaan Teen Arrested After Striking Mailbox with Car

Police last week arrested an 18-year-old New Canaan man and charged him with evading responsibility.

At about 4:30 a.m. on June 18, officers were dispatched to Sleepy Hollow Road on a report of a possible crash, police said.

The crash was reported by Onstar, according to the police.

Through an investigation, police determined that the teen, a neighbor on Sleepy Hollow, had struck a mailbox and left the scene of the crash, officials said.

The damage to the vehicle was consistent with the damaged property, police said.

He was issued a misdemeanor summons and released after promising to appear June 29 in state Superior Court.

  1. So basically, the boy’s car ratted him out electronically. That probably didn’t happen in Robert Russell’s day either.
