  • Canoe Hill Road—back patio door, forced entry (7:19 a.m. Sunday)
  • Rosebrook Road—forced master bedroom window (12:26 a.m. Sunday)
  • Dan’s Highway—forced entry first-floor window (1:02 a.m. Saturday)

The word ‘education’ was misspelled in a political mailer sent around New Canaan this week.

Deadline nearing: Student art is due this Sunday, Nov. 2, for the Fairfield County Student Social Justice Art Showcase. An opening reception for “Through Your Looking Glass” exhibition will be held 1 to 3 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the Carriage Barn Arts Center in Waveny

Melinda Meyer

New Canaan Public Schools has promoted Melinda Meyer as the new director of innovation and technology. In the role, she’ll oversee use of emerging technologies across district programs, including evolving initiatives A.I. and The Dome.

Police at 2:32 p.m. Saturday received a report of a vehicle (unlocked) stolen from a Hemlock Hill Road home. It was recovered in Hartford, police said.

The Friends of Irwin Park, part of the nonprofit New Canaan Garden Club, is raising funds for restoration and planting in the popular Weed Street park, an important piece of the local “greenlink” trail. More information here.

A ‘No Parking’ sign was reported stolen from a Forest Street condo complex at 10:32 a.m. on Oct. 24.

Congratulations to New Canaan resident Catie Hogan, author of a musical parody of “Grease” that’s opening off-Broadway. Several years in the making, the project saw Hogan’s team win a long legal battle against the rightsholders of “Grease.”
