Tuesday, February, 23, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Girl Scout Troop327 and The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education bring you an informative afternoon for high school students and their parents. This groundbreaking documentary addresses the major issue of sexual assault on college campuses across the country. The film presents multiples students who were sexually assaulted at their college campuses, and their college administrators either ignored them or required them to navigate a complex academic bureaucracy to have their claims addressed. The survivors in the film work together to create an open discussion on the subject, reach out and advocate for other survivors, and work towards legislation that will stand behind future survivors of sexual assault. In addition to the documentary “The Hunting Ground”, The Center will present “Know Before You Go”, a presentation on the issues of student right’s on college campuses and the culture of violence that contributes to sexually violent crimes. They will also address questions brought up by the film. This organization serves as the local resource and advocate for sexual assault survivors in all of Lower Fairfield County.
