The annual Saxe Middle School seventh and eighth grade production this year will be the romantic comedy GUYS AND DOLLS. Performance dates are Friday, March 23rd at 7:00 pm and Saturday, March 24th at 2:00 pm. Both performances will take place at the newly renovated Saxe Middle School auditorium.

Guys and Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy filled with classic Broadway songs such as “Luck Be a Lady”, “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat”, “Adelaide’s Lament”, and “A Bushel and A Peck”. Hailed as the perfect musical comedy, this award-winning classic gambles with luck and love under the bright lights of Broadway. 

Under the direction and choreography of Lauren Nicole Sherwood, along with musical director Zachary Kampler, assistant musical director Joe Gergle, stage manager/assistant director/choreographer Matthew Blank, and orchestra director/conductor Janet Rosen, audiences will be transported from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Cuba and even to the sewers of New York City as created by Production Designer Maggie Pennoyer.

More than seventy five Saxe students have dedicated themselves to practicing their singing and dance routines to dazzle audiences in this performance. Over twenty students are also building sets and props, working as stage crew, and providing live accompaniment in the pit orchestra.
