The New Canaan Men’s Club will learn about the events surrounding the historic attempt by Prussian military officers to kill Adolph Hitler in 1944 in a talk by Darien resident Bert von Stuelpnagel at its meeting Friday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge.
The meeting, to be held in Morrill Hall, will begin at 10 a.m. with von Stuelpnagel’s remarks scheduled to follow the business portion of the session at 10:40 a.m.
Born in Freiburg, Germany, went into financial services after a term in the German military service. Most recently, he was executive vice president of U.S. Capital Markets at BayernLB before retiring in 2015 after 35 years with the firm.
He holds a masters degree from the State University of Bavaria and an M.B.A. in Finance from Pace University.
