Gallagher is a celebrated writer, editor, teacher, preacher, and author of several spiritual memoirs including, Practicing Resurrection, Things Seen and Unseen, and Moonlight Sonata at the Mayo Clinic, a memoir about coming to terms with a baffling illness, the overwhelming vulnerability that came with it, and a lasting resilience that emerged. She teaches business students and leads a student group at Yale made up of graduate students from Forestry (Environmental Studies), Divinity and Management on meaningful work in a time of ecological crisis using Patagonia as a case study, a practical example of what can be done to bring people together around mission.
