State Rep. Tom O’Dea, R-125th District, will update the New Canaan Men’s Club Friday about the General Assembly’s 2025 session, the plans for a special session in the coming month and what may get the General Assembly’s session when it meets in the winter.
The Men’s Club meets at 10 a.m. in Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge. Rep. O’Dea will begin speaking around 10:40 a.m., after the business portion of the meeting.
O’Dea is in his 7th term serving New Canaan, Darien and Stamford, and serves as deputy house Republican leader.
During the special session, the General Assembly is likely to consider affordable housing legislation, following the veto of a bill in the regular session; address federal funding cuts, and explore ways to protect immigrants facing detention and potential deportation.
