As the New Canaan Rotary Club prepares to celebrate their 35th Lobsterfest, the organization has reinvented the way it will take place to meet 2020’s unprecedented requirements. The members are delighted to be able to hold a “contactless” event on Friday and Saturday evenings, October 16 and 17. With a newly expanded menu of lobster, salmon and chicken dinners, meals will be available for curbside pickup at the Waveny Pool Pavilion to be eaten at home.

Proceeds from Lobsterfest are the major source of funds for the club’s annual grants. This year, over $40,000 was awarded to more than 30 local non-profits. These organizations deployed the funding to support vital needs in the community for food, PPE, and the social services needed to meet the challenges of local families during the pandemic.

Lobsterfest tickets are available at www.newcanaanrotarylobsterfest.org. Everyone is asked to order online. Lobster and salmon dinners with corn on the cob, drawn butter, lemon wedge and dessert will be cooked and packed by the professionals from New Canaan’s Fjord Fish Market. Walter Stewart’s Markets will provide grilled chicken. Dinners are $45 per person, $40 if purchased by September 30. A limited number of home deliveries can be arranged for large orders.
