Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff to Speak, on Transportation Issues in New Canaan on April 14th

Tuesday, April, 14, 2015 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

State Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff, serving his sixth term in the Connecticut Senate, will discuss top issues before the General Assembly, including transportation; and Metro North issues, at an open forum, Tuesday April 14th sponsored by the New Canaan Democratic Town Committee (NCDTC).

The forum, at the New Canaan Outback Teen Center, 71 Main Street (behind Town Hall), will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

“With just a few months left in the 2015 General Assembly session, our legislators are tackling many issues of importance to New Canaan residents,” said Jane Himmel, chair of the New Canaan DTC. “As a town, one issue that affects everyone, is our infrastructure and transportation system. Bob has focused on those needs as a priority, fighting to hold Metro North accountable for service issues and working to improve service in our region.”

Along with transportation, Duff has been a leader on consumer protection issues, especially energy-related concerns, and passed legislation to combat price gouging in the aftermath of severe storms.

“This is a great opportunity to hear from one of the General Assembly’s leaders about how they’re working for our town and our state,” Himmel said.

The forum is open to all New Canaan residents, but seating is limited, so RSVP to Christina Fagerstal, DTCevent2015@gmail.com or call (203) 966-6357
