Police arrested a 59-year-old Stamford man by warrant after his ex-girlfriend told authorities he came to her house, struck her in the eye and burned her arm.

On the afternoon of April 19, the 54-year-old Lockwood Avenue woman said, the ex-boyfriend showed up unexpectedly at the woman’s after a three-month absence, according to a police report.

She opened the door to him when he made a pretext of having her sign over a title on a motor vehicle, the report said. He struck her in the eye, and then inside her home, he took a pot of boiling water off the stove and, while holding her down, burned her arm with the pot, the report said.

Police saw marks consistent with her story, the report said.

The woman told police that the ex had been abusive during their relationship, the report said. She reported it to police on April 21. Police obtained a warrant and arrested the man that day.

He was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree threatening, first-degree unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct. He was held on $50,000 bond and scheduled to appear April 22 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
