Police after midnight Thursday arrested a 41-year-old South Salem, N.Y. man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 12:34 a.m. on Sept. 27, an officer on patrol clocked a vehicle traveling northbound on Route 123 at 60 mph in a 45 mph zone, according to a police report.
The officer stopped the car near the intersection of Old Kings Highway and smelled alcohol on speaking to him, the report said.
The driver then failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody on the misdemeanor charge, it said.
According to police, the motorist refused to undergo a test for his blood-alcohol content.
He additionally was cited for speeding.
Police released the man on $250 bond and scheduled him to appear Oct. 10 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
