Juanita Faye Cooper Coleman

Juanita was born January 12, 1933 in Jackson, Tennessee, where she resided the majority of her life. She lived in France for two years when her husband was an Army cryptographer. She moved to Norwalk, CT to be near family in November 2022.

Juanita was predeceased by her husband, Walter E. Coleman, Jr., of 63 years, as well as two sisters, Jean Rollins and JoAnn Masey. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa and husband Robert Savage of Norwalk, and her twin sisters Maerene Fischer and Maxine Parker of Atlanta. She leaves behind three grandchildren – Esme of San Juan, PR, Cooper of Wheeler, OR and Mead of Westerly, RI, and her beloved great granddaughter Rain.

Juanita was a long time campaign manager for national, state and local elections, a delegate in the 1984 Republican National Convention and remained active in the Republican Women’s Group until she moved north. She was appointed West Tennessee Ombudsman by Governor Lamar Alexander for eight years, where she used her exceptional problem solving skills for area residents.

Her family was her first priority always, and she and Walter enjoyed frequent visits to Connecticut. They loved sharing Tennessee life with the grandchildren, and especially cherished the many family trips abroad where she embraced the adventures and mishaps with equal enthusiasm.

Juanita will be remembered for her quick wit, generous heart, inquisitive mind, and love of people. She enjoyed talking, music, antiquing, travel, cards and bridge, Scrabble, knitting and needlepoint. And she loved a good party.

Our family wishes to express our sincere gratitude to all at Brightview who made her last years wonderful!

She will be dearly missed by all.
