The Joy of Botanical Printmaking

July 15 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

$65 – $80

Come explore the fun and freedom of printing from nature with instructor Mary Himes. Using a variety of botanicals, we’ll use gel plates to create unique prints that can be framed or used as notecards and other home goods. You’ll be amazed at how this simple printmaking process wakes up the creativity within– like a mini vacation.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!

All materials are non-toxic and will be provided. Please feel free to bring your own fresh plant material.

All students should wear old clothing. Maximum group size is 10 people.

Workshop Fee: $65 CBAC members / $80 non-members

Mary Scott Himes has returned to her art practice after years working in the home design and non-profit worlds. Mary’s drawings and prints of abstracted figurative subjects question female beauty standards and how we construct identity. She also explores beauty in the natural world, creating botanical gel prints from leaves, grasses and flowers. Her workshops inspire people to tap into their inherent creativity and free themselves from the stress of daily life. Private and group sessions available. She has a BA in History/Art History from McGill University and a BFA in Environmental Design from Parsons School of Design.
