New Canaan Police at 7:14 a.m. on July 26 received a report of a vehicle stolen from a Brinckerhoff Avenue driveway. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Police are investigating a report of jewelry missing from a Middle Ridge Road home, received at 12:53 p.m. on July 24.

Kasey Diotte, NCPS Director of Finance and Operations

New Canaan Public Schools has appointed Kasey Diotte as the district’s director of finance and operations, effective Aug. 17. She succeeds Sean O’Keefe, who retired in June. Prior to joining NCPS, Diotte served as director of business and operations for Brookfield Public Schools. She holds a master’s degree in Elementary Education from University of Bridgeport and a bachelor’s of Business Administration in Finance from Western Connecticut State University.

The New Canaan YMCA still has evaluations for the Caimans swim team, available between 4:30 and 6 p.m. on Sept. 1, 2 and 3.

The owner of a Seminary Street residence on July 13 filed with state Superior Court to evict a tenant, saying the lease has lapsed. The tenant filed an answer July 24, saying they’re a 67-year-old first responder in New Canaan and had difficulty finding a new location. The apartment has flooded “from water and twice from ruptured sewage lines back into the residence,” the tenant said.

Police at 12:51 p.m. on July 25 euthanized a sick raccoon reported on Glen Drive.

The Board of Selectmen on Tuesday voted 3-0 to hire William Knauer as equipment operator II in the Highway Department starting Aug. 10.
